It might be down to the support that Nike offers the event, or the charm of the French Riviera, but the Herculis in Monaco is a meet that never disappoints: this stage also saw extraordinary results in various disciplines, season’s bests, personal bests, national records and even a world record. All contributing to making this event one of the best on the circuit.
Once again this year Nike offered its athletes an unforgettable meet and our team had the pleasure of making its contribution in the “WINTECARE Nike treatment room” made available by the organisers.
162 athletes competed in 16 disciplines, offering the public two intense days of competition. Our specialists Beatriz Jiménez and Fernando Ferrer Altemir threw themselves into long treatment sessions, supporting as many as 35 athletes.
The results of the athletes’ hard work throughout the season are reflected in the fantastic results achieved. As usual, we congratulate the athletes who visited us and brought home results with their determination as champions. Nijel Amos ran an extraordinary 1’ 42” 14 in the 800m, snatching the record for the fastest time in the world this season. In the same discipline, we should also point out the third place from Saul Ordonez, who broke the Spanish national record with his performance. Other sensational performances came from Christian Taylor, gold in the triple jump, Marie Josée Ta Lou, gold in the 100m, Semenya Caster, winner of the women’s 800m and Francine Niyonsaba, silver in the same discipline. Timothy Cheruiyot first and Elijah Manangoi second in the men’s 1500m, George Meitamei Manangoi, silver in the men’s 1000m, a great Sergey Shubenkov who, after Paris and Lausanne, took home his third gold in the 110m hurdles followed by Pascal Martinot-Lagarde in third place. A beautiful bronze also came in the 3000m steeplechase for Kipruto Conseslus and finally let’s not forget the silver for Wang Yu in the high jump and the bronze for Yanique Thompson in the 100m hurdles.
It was a meet full of emotions and hard work, which developed in parallel with the London stage of the DL where at the same time, another team of specialists was keeping the WINTECARE flag flying. Stay Tuned!
