Wintecare supports the athlete compiting at the London Marathon 2018

Our tour in the world of this season’s Major Marathons continues to London for the 38th edition of the London Marathon, a highly-coveted competition, which this year saw more than 41,000 runners taking part.

The legendary 42.196 km London Marathon route starts in Greenwich and ends at Buckingham Palace. Along the way it takes in all the capital’s top sights like Tower Bridge, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye and Saint James’ Park, making it practically impossible not to come across one of its aid stations.

As well as Queen Elizabeth, who started the race, our pro Simone Collio was also there, proudly representing the WINTECARE specialists and assisting to athletes Bedan Karoki and Brigid Kosgei. Managed by the “Rosa Associatiâ” group, they were competing with all the other champions participating. Also Hideyuki Shibachi, another member of our royal family, has come to visit us making his expertise available to the athletes.

To our great delight, Brigid came second, after an exhausting race that was mainly run at world record pace. Well done to Brigid for hanging in there and finishing ahead of other legendary female champions in the world of marathons.

Apart from assistance provided to the runners during events of this calibre, most of our work is carried out while they are training in their camps in Kaptagat, Kapsabet and Nyahururu in Kenya, and in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.
